HR training courses unveiled
Two training courses have been designed to help human resources (HR) directors and line managers deal with circumstances thrown up by the current economic difficulties.
According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Practical Employee Relations will help participants handle interaction in unionised and non-unionised workplaces, while Managing Redundancy provides the legal knowledge to manage the complex redundancy process effectively.
Head of training at the body Andrew Spencer said employers must realise the importance of learning and development at difficult times.
"Investing in talent now will equip an organisation to ride the current storm and be all the stronger when things improve," he added.
The group went on to say that the management of talent is crucial in difficult economic circumstances, both to survive the downturn and be in a position of strength during the recovery.
Earlier this week, the government announced a collaboration between the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and Jobcentre Plus designed to give employers guidance on recruiting from the widest possible range of people seeking jobs.
