Positivity 'key in job interviews'
By Paul Goatman
Jobseekers should be positive about their abilities and their chances of finding the right job in the current economic climate, it has been claimed.
According to the Times Colonist, typical job interview questions regarding strengths and weaknesses should be prepared for carefully.
Writing for the publication, Iris Winston commented: "For strengths, focus on innate aspects of character, such as ability to rise to challenges, adaptability, being a team player. For weaknesses, concentrate on things that can be learned."
She went on to say that jobseekers should arrive for interviews early to give themselves a moment to relax.
Ms Winston added that it takes three seconds to make a first impression and once this is made, it is "virtually irreversible".
Earlier this week, nutritional consultant and expert Robin De-Ivy Allen commented that healthy, fit job candidates may be in with the best chance of being offered a position in the current economic climate.
