Research and preparation 'make interviews more relaxing'
Research, preparation and relaxation are the key to succeeding in job interviews, it has been claimed.
Writing for the Globe and Mail, reporter Bruce Sandy advised candidates, such as those seeking sales jobs, that studying the roles and responsibilities of all those expected to be leading the interview is good preparation for the big day.
He added: "Be prepared to offer a one to two-minute response when asked to provide an overview of your career. Be ready to list your major strengths and accomplishments, along with examples of each."
Mr Sandy went on to say that the more a candidate practices with a career counsellor, friend or colleague, the more comfortable they will be in the actual interview, while all hopefuls should ensure they are well rested and relaxed before meeting their potential employer.
Earlier this week, counselling company FiredUP Careers claimed that jobseekers who are able to determine their personality type and preferences may be better placed to succeed in the employment market.
