New slim-lined PlayStation 3 could appeal to staff in sales jobs
The PlayStation 3 console is undergoing a price cut, which could appeal to those doing well in their sales jobs and with commission to spend.
Sony has announced that a new version of the console will be available at £249.99 from September, with a 120GB hard disc and a slim design.
It will have a textured surface finish which the company says will have a more casual appearance.
"The newly introduced model will appeal to a wider audience who are looking to buy the best entertainment system for their home," it states.
Sales jobs staff with commission will also be able to enjoy new features including a vertical stand, a Bravia Sync feature and a new version of the console's system software.
Alex Sassoon Cody, production editor at GameSpot UK, claims that the change has been timed to try and close the gap in sales with Microsoft's XBOX 360 console.
He says this will work well for Sony in the long term and will benefit consumers who view the units as costing too much at present.
