Milton Keynes sales jobs boosted by computer training

Residents in Milton Keynes are set to be given a boost in their hope for sales recruitment after the town won millions of pounds worth of computer training.

Milton Keynes Council scooped the prize after it came third in the National Britain Works Challenge, a contest run by computer giant Microsoft.

In the scheme the council had to devise effective programmes to address unemployment and availability of digital skills in the local community.

The competition encouraged the local authorities to use their creative and business skills to pitch for thousands of Microsoft Training Vouchers, which will benefit those looking for sales recruitment opportunities.

Council leader and cabinet member for IT Sam Crooks said: "We had to really prove our case to Microsoft but we are pleased to say that they recognised the important and innovative work ConnectMK and the council are doing in the area of e-inclusion."

Adding extra skills to a CV, such as computer literacy, can help boost a person's chance of sales recruitment according to a number of experts.
