REC holds Agency Work Regulations talks

A series of talks have been held about how the Agency Work Regulations will be implemented in the UK, those looking at sales jobs may be interested to discover.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has got around the table with the EU Labour Law Unit in order to raise the sector's key concerns with the plans.

Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the REC, stated that discussions on the directive have moved to national level but it is still important for a strong voice for the UK to be present in Brussels.

He said: "[This must] promote the need for interpretations that take account of the different ways that temporary work operates across the EU and in order to exchange views with other national federations."

In other news, the government has announced that workers will have the right to request training from April 2011, which could be good news for those looking at sales jobs.
