Workers 'beginning to search for new roles'

More workers are starting to become confident in the jobs market and, as a result, are beginning to look for new positions, according to an expert.

Employment guru Lisette Howlett said that the recession had impacted negatively on workers' attitude towards finding a new job but confidence is beginning to return.

"Interestingly, there are a proportion of new job seekers who are considering leaving their current roles to look for alternatives because they are feeling more confident about the economic climate," she said.

It is a trend which could see an upturn in sales jobs, as the industry becomes more liquid and positions are vacated and filled.

Ms Howlett said that completing relevant work experience and honing a CV can help candidates stand out from other applicants as competition for positions hots up.

Those looking for electronic sales jobs have also been buoyed by good news recently, with the advent of Apple's iPad and similar offerings from competitors delivering a boost to the IT industry as new products hit the market.
