Business software firm creates telesales jobs boost

One of the world's leading business software companies has pledged to create 75 jobs at its Irish base, with some of the new roles being located at its Telesales eCentre.

SAP/Business Objects is the firm behind the new positions, which will bring the number of people employed by the company in Ireland to more than 1,000.

Industrial Development Agency chief executive Barry O'Leary told SiliconRepublic.com that SAP/Business Objects is a key player in the region's ICT sector and he said the additional sales jobs are welcome.

"SAP has a reputation as a growth and innovation-led company and since setting up its first operation in Ireland has repeatedly upgraded its mandate here ... today's commencement of recruitment marks a significant milestone for SAP/Business Objects," he said.

People in telesales jobs should be shown appreciation for their work and offered flexibility, according to Louise Davies, communications manager at Kellogg's, who said that this will mean staff are more productive.
