Centre of Excellence could create sales jobs

A major employer in Londonderry could create sales jobs as part of an expansion plan which will see it bring a European Centre of Excellence to the region, according to one newspaper.

The Londonderry Sentinel reported on the plans by Firstsource Solutions Limited, which intends to create telecoms and sales jobs under an expansion process.

Fraida Silver, marketing director at Firstsource, told the newspaper that the creation of the centre could be great news for the area and bring employment opportunities to Northern Ireland quickly.

"There has been some progress since May 2008. We are planning to open a new site in the north-west of Northern Ireland. Hopefully this is sooner rather than later and will be good news for the area," he said.

In other news, Kingspan Renewables has recently been able to create more than 160 jobs after its successful manufacturing sales team helped it to secure £6.5 million of investment from Invest Northern Ireland.
